Views in and around Ullesthorpe
Top left: Granary cottages - now private houses.
Top right & bottom left: views of former windmill.
Bottom right: view looking west from the village towards the A5 (Watling Street).
A small rural village in south-west Leicestershire, about 4 miles NW of Lutterworth. It's a couple of
miles from High Cross, where the old Fosse Way crosses Watling Street (both major Roman roads)
- the place the Romans had earmarked as the centre of England. They weren't that far out!
Left: former manse, now a private house.
Right: a former pub now in use as a private house, just by the entrance to the old station yard.
Left: the village butcher. Of more interest for wooden framing & brick infills on gable
end of adjacent cottage .
Right: typical farmyard scene.
