Views from the top of Cockleroi Hill
Looking north towards Linlithgow, which is the town in the foreground.
In the middle distance is the River Forth, and beyond that Fife.
Linlithgow Palace
Linlithgow Palace dates from the 15th and 16th centuries, and was the birthplace of Mary, Queen
of Scots, in 1542. Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) stayed in the palace
in 1745, but it was burnt down, probably by accident, by troops of General Hawley in 1746.
